The Origin
Why Gallop exists.
After a decade building web infrastructure for privacy and security companies, Douglas Choate noticed something obvious: page builders haven't evolved. They're still drag-and-drop tools from 2016 — polished, yes, but fundamentally the same.
The workflow hasn't changed in a decade. You pick a template, delete half of it, rearrange what's left, fix the mobile breakpoints, replace stock photos, and rewrite all the copy. Three hours later, you've built someone else's vision of your client's business.
AI changed what's possible. But the first wave of "AI features" in page builders was underwhelming — a chatbot that writes a paragraph, a button that generates an image. Bolt-on features. The architecture wasn't designed for AI-first workflows.
Gallop started from scratch. A WordPress theme designed from day one around AI generation: three specialized agents that produce layout, copy, and styling simultaneously, outputting standard WordPress content that survives theme switching with zero lock-in.

Gallop outputs native WordPress JSON — the same format Gutenberg uses. Switch themes and your content still works. We believe vendor lock-in is a design choice, and we choose portability.

Stride, our design system, is MIT licensed and fully open. We believe transparency creates better products and stronger communities. If you can read the source, you can trust the output.

43% of the web runs on WordPress. It's a proven, mature ecosystem with infinite extensibility. It doesn't need replacing — it needs better tools. That's what Gallop is for.

Our Approach
How we build.
Gallop ships weekly. Every release is tested against real agency workflows , client landing pages, service pages, multi-language sites, rapid iteration cycles. We build for the problems you actually have.
We optimize for three things: generation quality (does the page look intentional?), output portability (does it work without Gallop?), and iteration speed (how fast can you refine it?). Everything else is secondary.
The product is opinionated. We use Stride CSS for consistent styling, oklch for perceptually uniform color, and JSON schema validation for structural safety. These aren't arbitrary choices — they're engineering decisions that make AI-generated output predictable and professional.
